NetworkWorld publishes an interesting story about a white paper underlining the future aspects of computer security and their legal implications. A short excerpt of the story below:

The American Bar Association’s Committee on Cyberspace Law yesterday published a white paper on legal aspects of deperimeterization security with the Jericho Forum’s secretariat, the Open Group. In it, the legal experts who wrote the paper, titled “Information Security Strategy: A Framework for Information-Centric Security Governance,” say protecting critical data may entail businesses demanding greater ability to monitor each other’s content security practices.

Laptops with sensitive info stolen in US

Two laptops were stolen from a Transportation Security Administration (TSA) contractor that contained personal information about commercial drivers who transport hazardous materials across the United States.

As a result, TSA ordered contractor to encrypt every byte of data on hard drives from now on. Better later than never?
